I'm back, a few weeks later, a few essays completed and handed in but more than a few to finish off - Such is the life of a student!
Luckily I've managed to fit in a few quick trips here and there to put some distance between me and my uni room, which whilst writing essays feels like my prison.
Last week I went on an impromptu visit to the Alice in Wonderland expedition at the British Library. I myself had been trying to study in our uni's library but was finding everything a distraction so went for a walk and ended up jumping on the tube. That's one of the things I love about London the ability to get anywhere in the city pretty speedily. I knew that the expedition finished very soon so thought it worth a trip. It was also free (whoop). It was super cute with loads of little trinkets and historical artefacts to do with story and Lewis Carroll the Author. There was also lots of information on the different interpretations of the story from the old to the more modern. I've always had a love for this story its a classic but its so quirky when looked at in depth.
I also had a quick pop to Pimlico. It's such a beautiful part of the city. I could stare at the Mary Poppin's style houses all day however its the charity shops I went there for. Fara in Pimlico is great. There's always some bargains. Fara also has a vintage shop around the corner from its charity one,"Retromania". It's £5 sale rail is always good for a rummage and the whole shop is totally packed full of colour and prints.
However the purchase of this week didn't come from my charity shop rummage it came surprisingly from Marks and Spencer's. Alexa Chung's line for them the Archive collection is beautiful. Alexa was allowed access to M&S's extensive archive to re-create some of it's most stand out pieces. Its a collection full of inspiration from different eras from the 60's to the 80's but all the pieces are obvious classics. The quality is also amazing, if a little pricey for my student budget.
I had such love for the Harry Blouse but of course it had to be the Elsie dress I bought. It was originally created in the 60's for the M&S teenage market and I'm in love.
With the sun coming to say hello for a little bit this week bought out the sunnies (yey) although only for a short time. The sun actually gave me the urge to go for a power walk (OMG) and some of my classmates and I went exploring Boston Manor Park and its canal which is a really lovely spot.
For my little trip into central I wore some clothes I love but hadn't worn in a while. My sunglasses are from Beasleys in Hull. My pinafore dress is Chelsea Girl and my shirt is a favourite from Primark. My bag is from Urban outfitters.
My shoes are from the Primark sale and I love wearing bright crazy socks with them. The strawberries had to make an appearance with this outfit!
I actually also went out this weekend. We had a girly night out in central, ending at Egg which was so much fun! Shout out to our amazing taxi driver letting us party in the back of his Uber at 5.30 in the morning (haha)
Good Night, have a wonderful week... I'm off to hibernate in bed...
